Food Safety Culture MasterClass - I'm a SLO + GFSI dimensions

Text lesson

GFSI Dimensions

This session uses a series of visual case studies and practical scenarios to demonstrate how Food Safety Culture is built — or damaged, through everyday decisions and behaviours.

Across multiple episodes, topics covered include:

  • leadership behaviour;
  • accountability and ownership;
  • communication failures;
  • shift handovers;
  • training effectiveness;
  • operational pressure vs food safety;
  • resource management;
  • speaking-up culture;
  • continuous improvement;
  • adaptability to change;
  • the relationship between procedures, environment, and behaviour;
  • and the hidden risks created when deviations become normalised.

Rather than focusing only on procedures, this session shows how small operational decisions, tolerated habits, and cultural gaps can create real risks inside an organisation, even when everything appears compliant “on paper”.

The objective is to help participants recognise cultural warning signs, understand the impact of human decisions on the system, and realise that Food Safety Culture does not live in documents, posters, or audits. It lives in behaviours, priorities, and daily actions.
